The following discussion has been transferred from Meta-Wiki.
Any user names refer to users of that site, who are not necessarily users of MediaWiki.org (even if they share the same username).

I think you must post a little instructions or directives to install the patch against mediawiki 1.3.7 from a user point of view, i dont know how to do this in a safe mode ... for example how to update database schema ??? thanks

Thanks to Email notification you will be (more or less) easily able to merge your watchlists of different Wikis! Thanks a a lot -- Nichtich 21:46, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Hi - how can I install this for MediaWiki 1.4.5 ? Will there be a new version released for 1.4.5?

test cases[edit]

See Extension:Email notification/test cases for test cases about this feature.

Notification throttling or Digest idea[edit]

I've read through all the page and haven't found answer on the following question. Will all these emails be sent one by-page-change? It is a lot of traffic, actually.

My proposal is more convenient for most people - once a day send Digest email containing all changes for this day. Perhaps I've missed something, but the text on the content page is too overloaded with details, sorry. --Techtonik 14:17, 17 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Category Mediawiki Hacks[edit]

There is a new category where you could add your article : Category:Mediawiki Hacks. It seems that Enotif/Econfirm are hacks (patches) rather than proper mediawiki extensions. As this category is new, maybe you can leave it in the both for now...

Thanks for this useful feature. Jej 07:39, 3 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Support[edit]

How does one get support for this thing?

I'm having some issues with it, and need some help!

I'd second that!

Email Notification not working in Mediawiki 1.5.5[edit]

Mediawiki 1.5.x has email notification integrated.

However, I can't get the wiki to perform this task. I have gone through the common pitfalls and I do not believe this falls under any of those categories. Oddly enough, email confirmation works perfectly, but email notification of watchlists do not. Please help with any ideas what this problem could be.

Email Notification in MediaWiki 1.6.8 Making Incorrect eMailed Links for eMail reply[edit]

Page moved to MediaWiki[edit]

Okay, thanks for moving.

If (when) the Wikipedia Admins enable Enotif there (I mean, as suggested, in the German and English Wikipedia), I will be more motivated to update my whole documentation. --Wikinaut 19:44, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Parser functions don't work with Enotif[edit]

The substitution doesn't seem to work always either. I've got $PAGETITLE working and substituting, but the parser functions it substitutes into don't run - it just sends the page with them.

Is it possible to get it to parse the page before sending it?

For some reason $NEWPAGE doesn't seem to work properly in the enotif_body - and $PAGESUMMARY is not working in the subject.

I'm using Semantic Bundle (Version 1.9.2)

I've also sent a message about this to Semantic MediaWiki users <semediawiki-user@lists.sourceforge.net> as well.
