General Guidelines for Volunteers[edit]

  • Picking up a ticket (task) in Phabricator
    • Before taking a new ticket to work on, make sure that it is not assigned to anybody else.
    • Carefully review the ticket to make sure the task is clear. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment on the task and mention @Niharika or @Tchanders.
    • Assign the ticket to yourself.
    • For more information, please review the Developer Hub.

Tickets the team is currently working on[edit]

  • This refers to the work and tickets that the AHaT team will take on. These tickets live in the “Ready” column in The Letter Song Phabricator board (more info about boards) or in the “Cards Ready for Development” column in the Anti-Harassment Phabricator board.
  • If you pick up a task from the  “Cards Ready for Development” or from the “Ready” column in the Letter Song, one of the Anti-Harassment team members will initiate contact.
  • Please expect a message with a general explanation of what the team needs. We are really excited about collaborating with you!
  • If you pick up a ticket from the “Cards Ready for Development” column in the Anti-Harassment Phabricator board, the team will discuss the ticket during the Stand-up or Estimation/Planning meetings.
    • Tickets will get moved into The Letter Song Phabricator board and the team will review your work.
  • Sometimes you might pick up work but you might be able to finish it! Or maybe you don’t want to finish it. This is fine! If for whatever reason you cannot complete the patch, just let us know. The Anti-Harassment engineers might make an alternative patch or finish the existing patch.
  • If you pick up a task and you’re not actively working on it, please indicate so in a comment so that the team can prioritise the work accordingly.
  • If you need help on a task, please reach out to @Tchanders or @Niharika in a comment.
