I changed Wikimedia to just Wikimedia on the main page. It looks a lot better I think.

Have a nice wiki day, Jeff

Hi! Nice to meet you. Www.wikinerds.org 13:42, 1 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Centering an image[edit]

Hey, can you help a bit centering a wikimarkup-inserted image inside a DIV CSS box?

<div style="width:auto; text-align:center; float:right; border:3px double #0000ff; padding:0.25em; margin:auto;">[[Image:Corneille.jpg|right|120px|Pierre Corneille (1606-1684)]]</div>

I tried vertical-align but it doesn't seem to work. I think I could do this with an XHTML markup-inserted image, but I think it's better to keep the wikimarkup.

OK. still think Red M & W looks bad.[edit]

Maybe it's just in the blue URL's that are links. I don't think there should be red embedded in them. It's just a distraction; I don't think it will really help new users learn the differences -- it's more likely to just be a visual distraction. Anyway, just my two cents. We'd need to run it through a user experience study to get feedback from new users to really decide what is best I suppose.

I just found your note today. I had to recreate my user account; it was deleted? The talk feature of the wiki is nice. There wasn't a way to "respond" to your comment though that I could find. So, I went to your user page and then the discussion tab. Is this the right way to respond to a comment?

Perhaps it would be a good feature to add to the wiki source -- a "respond" to this message in the talk section. Anyway, I'm not familiar with the source enough yet. I just checked out the cvs repository for the first time today.

Enjoy, Jeff Carr

lots of vanalism[edit]

Can you make the main page more restrictive? (aka: force users to make real accounts) or something to that effect?

There are so many random changes to that page that the history for that page (which would be really useful!) is instead a nightmare.
