User:Isarra/random Flow thing

From mediawiki.org

Currently users have watchlists and talkpages. Flow intends to be an alternative to those, rather like Page Curation is an alternative to newpages and various user-created scripts.

Basically it's an extended watchlist and discussion platform that takes the form of a list, or feed, of notifications.

Initial scope:

  • List/feed of notifications:
    • Discussion threads
    • Watchlist items (edits and logs)
    • Whatever Echo will give it

Each notification can be extended to show the whole thing - be it a diff or an entire discussion thread or what have you.

Later:

  • Tagging and searching
  • Smarter edit notification (ANI, AFD, etc)
  • Edwardsbot integration/replacement
  • Geonotice stuff
  • Etc
  • ...
  • Non profit.

The later stuff will probably depend on how Echo works, as that may be doing a lot of the handling, but it should all wind up in the feed itself regardless of where it is implemented and handled.

For now we'll see how the first chunk goes and worry about the rest more later. It's all laid out more on Flow.
