Some of things[edit]

This is interesting.

Needs[edit]

None of these were addressed.

  • Skinning
Bartosz and Jack have both been working on both the skinning backend as well as individual skins.
  • Lack of web-based configuration
Ryan has been working with Kunal Mehta and others on a new configuration database RFC.
  • Spam
Ryan and Jack have been working on several anti-spam measures, including the SimpleAntiSpam and StopForumSpam extensions, as well as direct outreach to individual wikis to try to help them with their spam
  • No built-in help system
Jack has been working on making a version of the HelpPages extension for multiwiki projects. I don't know what became of that, but spare time only goes so far.

Deliverables (?)[edit]

  • Maintain two major releases per year
The releases went out, though not necessarily on time.
  • Continuous integration
Some progress was made with jenkins.

  • Work with extension developers
    Haven't seen anything here.
  • Start developing lasting relationships with Open Source organisations to improve sustainability
I'm not even sure what this means.
  • Kickstarter fundraising to support implementation of new skinning system
As much as I don't think this would even fall under Kickstarter's terms of use, the only progress toward a new system that I've seen in the past year was Trevor's RfP. We expect great things from that, but unfortunately it doesn't really do anything for this.
  • Begin fostering relationships with large third party wikis
We run a few large third-party wikis and we haven't seen any of this. Jack has, however, done extensive work with WikiHow and Wikia in the past to get their source released and even upstream some of it.
  • Work with vendors such as Microsoft to get funding to improve support for their products
Support for MSSQL was listed here and it was actually Ryan who added that back into core.
