Would this Zend OPcache v7.0.3-dev do the same thing? see http://pecl.php.net/package/ZendOpcache
It may have all the same capabilities, but if there isn't MW support for it, it won't help you. If Zend OPcache supports data caching -- it looks like it only supports opcode caching which isn't the same thing -- and you want support for it, you should file a bug.
