About me[edit]

I'm doing B-Tech (pre-final year) at NIT Trichy. I've been contributing to open source since my second year of college. Some of the major projects that I work in are

  • Pragyan CMS - as it says, it is a Content Management System. It is developed by Delta Force(a club at NIT Trichy).
  • PHP Shell - a shell interface through a website. Project not yet complete. Handling permissions for the user.
  • Pragyan Shell - a login shell for linux written in Python. Created this to find a solution to the problem - How to restrict linux users to certain commands. First got help from a blog for handling Signals using C in the Shell. Found python to be a better way to handle to work flow and maintain fluidity of the code.
  • few templates for Joomla which I never published online. Converted them to use for PragyanCMS.

Will put up the links for my other projects too.

Skill set[edit]

C, C++, Python, C#, HTML/CSS (HTML 5), Javascript(JSON, AJAX, jQuery), Shell Scripting, PHP - MySQL, Apache Server Administration.

FOSS.in meet[edit]

I attended FOSS.in meet at Bangalore during December 2010. Had an opportunity to exhibit PragyanCMS in the project expo area. Various open source contributors saw the CMS in different ways. At the Wikimedia tech Talk, got a rough idea of the wikimedia cms, and started checking out the their code. Since I was working with a cms, it wasn't much of a work to be put up to understand their data layer. Have to work more on the permission layer though.

Something to say[edit]

This is my first year of application for GSOC and I'm very excited about it. Frank enough to say that I dint bother about open source when I was in my 12th grade in my school and during the first year of college. Now finding it really Cool and packed up.
