Hi, my name's Hendrik van Antwerpen. I'm a bachelorstudent in CS in the Netherlands. I've been using mediawiki in projects for a while now. I often use it as a documentcollaboration system, where I generate PDF's afterwards using wiki2latex or mwlib and XSL sheets and latex (the last being a lot more flexible).

Quicklist of things I might want to work on

• Visual Diff seems an interesting option (don't know how much of it is UI work and how much is backend work).
• I also found some topics on a formal mediawiki parser to allow for (XML) parsetrees being exported by mediawiki itself, allowing for more flexible processing. I'd also like working on something like that.
• Installer improvement might be nice.

In general I prefer working on backend items more than on UI stuff.
