Is this page any good?[edit]

Is this page any good? My observation is that that not much of what is roadmapped here is actually making it into the release it has been planned for. To not raise any false hopes, could it be a good idea to just get rid of this page? siebrand 21:04, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

How else would we know what we should give priority to and what others are working on so that we don't attempt to replicate someone else's work? Having a roadmap helps the people that actually develop the software keep things straight, and if you were a developer you would know that unexpected issues arise which prevent new features from getting released when expected. --Skizzerz 21:33, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Skizzerz, that edit summary was quite uncalled for. Just to say. —Anonymous DissidentTalk 22:21, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
yeah, I know... don't know what got over me when I typed out that reply. Sorry siebrand. --Skizzerz 23:18, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
I guess the work I do does qualify me as a developer, so you must me misinformed about the things that I do to support MediaWiki and its development. But let's not get distracted by that.
Roadmapping could be done in our bug tracker, if we were able to add a target version to current issues, for example. siebrand 13:24, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
ooooooooooh... *drools* --Skizzerz 15:52, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Plan to reformat[edit]

Hi folks, barring any serious objection, I'd like to reformat this page to be a single table with sortable columns. Will do so if no one beats me to it. -- RobLa-WMF 20:40, 25 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I can't really visualize what you're saying (or figure out what you'd want to sort), but be bold. :-) Easy enough to revert if it looks terrible or works terribly. --MZMcBride 20:54, 26 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Retooling the page again[edit]

We'll be retooling & modernizing the roadmap based on Wikimedia Platform Engineering page et al -- notes to come later. --brion 23:25, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
