Things to update/do[edit]

  • All references to SVN in documentation at Manual:Pywikipediabot and on botwiki should be updated to point to Git.
  • The script that generates nightlies should pull from git now
  • We should post a notice on the major wiki's bot noticeboards (w:en:WP:BON, m:Wikimedia Forum, etc) with a notice of the change
  • Can we set up a SVN mirror on googlecode/something for people who don't want to migrate? You can $svn co github urls.

about the third one, I think using m:GMD would be better. I have access and we can send a message to all of VPs instead of Bot noticeboards (I think it's better to do both) Ladsgroup (talk) 12:54, 10 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

done! a blog post and I used m:GMD for sending a message to all VPs Ladsgroup (talk) 15:23, 23 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Mailing list[edit]

What are we going to do about pywikipedia-svn? Rename the mailing list? (Is it even possible?) make a whole new mailing list? or what else? Ladsgroup (talk) 03:57, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think closing it is probably the easiest. Individual users can sign up at Git/Reviewers to be notified of new patchsets. Legoktm (talk) 21:34, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Great! but before doing that we should send a notice via this mailing list and ask people to sign up in new system Ladsgroup (talk) 22:01, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
