Summer of Code

The Google Summer of Code is a fantastic program, sponsored and run by Google, in which college and graduate students around the world are paid to work on projects for open source software applications. The event has been running since 2005, and the Wikimedia Foundation has participated since 2006. Currently the organizational administrator is Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's volunteer development coordinator.
