While you note that the easier way is to install using composer, skinny can be installed without composer, so probably need to either include manual installation instructions, or note Composer as a dependency.

Page status indicators[edit]

Hope the development is ongoing, if so, adding page status indicators from wm1.25 would be great (e.g. featured articles)
