Not in MW 1.7

Has anyone else tried changing this in LocalSettings.php on MediaWiki 1.7.1? I wanted to copy the defaults out of DefaultSettings.php but they weren't there, so I copied it from the Meta site and pasted the array at the bottom of LocalSettings.php. My changes don't show up. (The biggest thing is removing the 'Donations' link, but I'd also like to add a couple others.) - 24.247.4.3 04:05, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

The variable is deprecated as of version 1.5 because 1.5 introduced wiki editable 'Mediawiki:sidebar' page. See Manual:Navigation_bar

But this page doesn't say it is deprecated. hmmm I'll try to fix that now -- Harry Wood 16:43, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
