Unsuccessfully tested in MediaWiki 1.13.4 PHP 5.1.6(apache2handler) MySQL 5.0.22. Set to true but no highlightning of search results.

Same here, can't see any difference in MW 1.17 --Danwe 01:10, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
