Help talk:Merge history

Last I checked. (about a year ago I guess)

In relation to File: pages "Merge history" will:

• do the "Page history" revisions.
• but not the "File history" revisions.

(ie: unless changed ... one needs to use page-move to do both at the same time for File: pages with files/images)

(Thought about adding this to the main page ... but I see codes I don't know. Ergo: using Talk-page.)

I've always found this help page singularly useless: it explains what the special page is/does, but doesn't talk at all about how to actually use it. Is there anyone with that knowledge who could add documentation here?
