Purpose[edit]
Substitute < tag > sections with MediaWiki templates.
Examples[edit]
Example 1[edit]
<etag>some data here</etag> would be translated to {{etag||some data here}}.
Example 2[edit]
<etag params here>some data here</etag> would be translated to {{etag|params here|some data here}}.
Features[edit]
- Secure: only users that have access to the 'MediaWiki' namespace can change the tag mapping
- Tag mapping are configured through the parser function

Usage[edit]
- Configure the page MediaWiki:Registry/TagToTemplate with the mapping table.
To do so, use the parser function to list all the required mappings.

Here is a sample MediaWiki:Registry/TagToTemplate page:
Handle 'etag' tags; 'etag' sections will be substituted with {{template_etag|[optional params]|...text here...}}
{{#tag_to_template:etag|template_etag}}
Handle 'php' tags; 'php' sections will be substituted with {{php|[optional params]|...text here...}}

- Add the following to LocalSettings.php, if the extension was downloaded from Jean-Lou Dupont's MediaWiki SVN directory (link in the download entry of the table above)[2]:
require_once( "$IP/extensions/TagToTemplate/TagToTemplate.php" );
- Since this Extensions is depending on StubManager, add the line after the StubManager include, or else your Wiki won't work.
