What do you mean by text editor? Notepad? the plain wikitext editor?

Trying to add the Visual Editor to mediawiki, and still there are any errors. I can not choose the right version to version mediawiki editor. I would like to add articles to mediawiki with an editor because it is convenient.

Which exact MediaWiki version? How did you get VisualEditor (following which steps) and which version / branch? What are the errors? Basically: Extension:VisualEditor#Download
