[edit] What can this extension do?
To allow users to more quickly stay abreast of changes to an article (particularly if it covers a developing topic), this extension will allow an article page to be viewed in a form that highlights any changes between particular dates. Such on-article highlighted diffs will be easier to read than un-rendered side-by-side markup diffs.
A widget will allow a user to set the period of diffs that are highlighted, which defaults to the time between the user's last visit to the article and the present.
New content will be highlighted in a different colour than edited content, making it easier for users who only wish to focus on one of these.
This extension will enhance Mediawiki's support for a "read-state", which is particularly invaluable for wiki-journalism.
