Commit access requests

We try to get MediaWiki developers on board before they grow up and get a real job.

This page serves as a central location for users to request commit access to SVN. Please note that just because you've listed your name here doesn't mean that you'll get access. Final approval for access still lies with Brion and Tim.

[edit] Request format

Copy and paste the following text to the bottom of the list. Of course you can add extra information you think is relevant, but try to keep it simple and to the point.

* Past work on MediaWiki - patches, extensions, bug reports, etc[note 3]
* Past programming experience - other open source projects, etc.

1. ↑ Commit names must be lowercase, not contain spaces, and use only ASCII characters. For example, instead of "Brion VIBBER", try something like "brion", "bvibber", "brionvibber", etc.
2. ↑ You need to publish an SSH public key that can be linked to your SVN account, to authenticate you when you commit changes.
3. ↑ A history of successful patches or extension work will improve your chances of getting commit access. You can link to a Bugzilla query of your bugs with Keyword "patch", which will always be up to date.

You must have an email address registered in your mediawiki.org preferences before your request will be approved.

• Expected area to work in: I have updated the extension Extension:Link Suggest. The new version is working in my site: Subtrama.net. I'm thinking about further development on an extension automatically detecting previously linked text, and adding them in a post-processing stage.

• Past programming experience - Worked for the Psi project some time ago. (Patches published as Fran Rodríguez / Francisco Joaquín Rodríguez Prados) Besides that, experience programming in C++/PHP/Java/Javascript in my Bachelor/MSc/PhD
