Date planned for branching?

Is there any date planned for branching 1.22? Or is there a wmf/1.22wmf** branch that looks like a good candidate for a 1.22 starting point? Just curious about when and how this process will start.--Qgil (talk) 14:27, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

@Qgil: The REL1_22 branch was created on 24 October, at the same time as the 1.23wmf1 branch (so these two share no common code). Matma Rex (talk) 17:19, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

SimpleAntiSpam

I noticed that it's mentioned twice that it has been bundled. I currently have gerrit:90291 pending review, which would merge this extension into core. Does it make sense to try and push to get into 1.22 or should we just wait for 1.23? Legoktm (talk) 21:46, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

SimpleAntiSpam's one of those many things (along with CheckUser, Renameuser, etc.) that should've been in core right from the start, so I'd say that the sooner we get it there the better. --Jack Phoenix _(Contact) 21:52, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

You shouldn't have to do anything to your LocalSettings.php file to enable it now that it has been merged into core. --GeorgeBarnick (talk) 03:06, 28 February 2014 (UTC)

1.22 stable release?

I'm sure this must be written down somewhere but I'm not seeing it...

When will 1.22 be bundled as a stable release for install? I could download it now as alpha of course, but wanted to make sure its 'ready'. Is other work being done on it or is it just being deployed to wikimedia sites?

There are still a few open bugs in 1.22 (see [1]), so it's still "alpha". I don't believe the VisualEditor is being bundled, James would know for sure though. Legoktm (talk) 07:58, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

Bundling extensions is the call of User:MarkAHershberger and User:Mglaser following their successful RfP for MW release management, but I doubt that VE is ready for the majority of users such that it would be sensible to distribute VE and Parsoid with the installer. Trying to Install oRC2 - System Hangs after Install

Maybe this is an amateur hour problem so I won't register it as a bug just yet...

Note: I successfully installed 1.21 and 1.23wmf5 without trouble.

With 1.22 I get: 1. The system hangs for about 10 minutes 2. Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_RESET This is after I install, shortcut by choosing "I'm bored, just install the wiki", upload my localsettings and click to 'enter my wiki'

On a completely different server I get: Gateway Time-out The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.

This second server let me get to the main index, login page, and then timed-out when I tried to log in. Maybe I shouldn't be shortcutting and do a full install. I'll try that tomorrow as both servers now seem to be very slow and unresponsive.

Some settings: (I also chose binary instead of utf8, as I assume that's the better choice. --- PHP 5.3.24 is installed. Warning: Could not find APC, XCache or WinCache. Object caching is not enabled. Found ImageMagick: /usr/bin/convert. Image thumbnailing will be enabled if you enable uploads. Found the Git version control software: /usr/bin/git. Using server name "http://mywebsite.com". Using server URL "http://mywebsite.com/test22". Warning: Your default directory for uploads /home/mywebsite/public_html/test22/images/ is vulnerable to arbitrary scripts execution. Although MediaWiki checks all uploaded files for security threats, it is highly recommended to close this security vulnerability before enabling uploads. Using the intl PECL extension for Unicode normalization. Warning: The installed version of the Unicode normalization wrapper uses an older version of the ICU project's library. You should upgrade if you are at all concerned about using Unicode.

.msg file upload error

I hope I am posting this to the right place, I'm new at this... Here it goes...

I was able to attach a end leg email saved as .msg (Email that had been send and extracted) but when time came to attach a .msg DRAFT email to an article, I got the error "The file is a corrupt or otherwise unreadable ZIP file. It cannot be properly checked for security."

Anyway we can bypass this error without causing too much of a security issue...
