Help talk:DiscussionTools/Why can't I reply to this comment?

Whenever I try using the new parsoid parser, replies are broken for me; I just get a message:

Could not find the comment you're replying to on the page. It might have been deleted or moved to another page.

What's up with this?

I'm happy to report that this has been backported just now and the issue should be fixed. Let us know if anything still looks off!

Huh, that's not good, thanks for reporting the problem. Well, the new parser is still "experimental"…

I had a look and I think this is the same bug as T364597. That bug already has a fix, and replying is also working correctly again in the latest version of the code: https://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Polar_bear&useparsoid=1. This fix should be deployed to Wikimedia wikis next week on the usual schedule (reaching Wikipedias on Thursday).

I am quite new to Mediawiki and recently installed DiscussionTools as an extension. my Mediawiki installation is fully up to date as well as the other two required extensions (VisualEditor and Linter). In the Talk pages I see a reply button appear but when I click it, I get the error message described here. I have refreshed and purged but that does not resolve the error. The problem does not seem to be with my localsettings file either (which was tested in a "test" installation on another server (containerized)).

Weird. Does this happen on every page? If you create a new talk page with just one comment on it, do you still get the error?

Is your wiki public somewhere I could see it?

brand new installation 1.35.2. tested comments in talk of Main Page and a test page. I can add comments, see signatures with name and date, also see reply button. but getting above error when replying.

Does this page have any strange formatting?
