Language selection does not work[edit]

For me it shows Cantonese as selected, but everything is shown in English, selecting other languages does not work (Windows 10, FF 50.1.0). If it is supposed to be so while a prototype, then sorry for false alert. It would good to have link to translation explicitly provided though, it is quite common a practice for tools. --Base (talk) 19:56, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yes, this is not implemented in the prototype, but we'll provide a translate link, that's a good idea. Milimetric (WMF) (talk) 21:04, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Copyright waiver to CC-0[edit]

Now there is some custom copyright waiver. I deem it better to use CC-0 which serves the same purpose with having some legal text behind it rather than re-invent a bicycle --Base (talk) 19:56, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

We'll look closer at that, not sure what the implications are. Thanks for the pointer. Milimetric (WMF) (talk) 21:04, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Exact values in graphs and lines[edit]

It would be nice to have possibility to see the value of point in graph or bar onmousehover, now it seems to be only available from table view. --Base (talk) 20:04, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yes, if you look closely at the design mockups there's a hover there, just didn't have time to stick it in the prototype. We'll definitely have at least a hover info box. Milimetric (WMF) (talk) 21:06, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Designs to Commons[edit]

Now non-implemented designs are available for view on Dropbox, it would be really nice to have them uploaded to Wikimedia Commons so that people do not have to use a third party site for this (which helps both privacy and interface familiarity wise) --Base (talk) 20:08, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yes, they're on Commons, sorry I didn't know exactly how to link to them. All the files with the prefix "Wikistats 2.0 Visual Design" are the files from dropbox: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Milimetric_(WMF). Milimetric (WMF) (talk) 21:08, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

General Feedback & Top Contributors section[edit]

First of all, let me say that the design looks great! Clean, modern-looking, and effective.

Now, a couple of minor points, mainly regarding the top contributors section. I see that the design includes an interesting top contributors sections, and I'm curious if it this would include bots, or only human contributors (and whether the bots measure would discount only flagged bots, or use other measures to track unflagged bots (we use w:Wikipedia:List of Wikipedians by number of edits/Unflagged bots on enwiki).

Also, I wonder, based on my brief involvement with the generation of the English Wikipedia's List of Wikipedians by number of edits back in 2008, whether any provisions are being made to respect the wishes of those that do not wish to be listed in lists of wikimedians by edits. We have at least two lists of such contributors, at w:Wikipedia:List of Wikipedians by number of edits/Anonymous and at m:User:Emijrp/List of Wikimedians by number of edits/Anonymous. At the time of my involvement, strong objections were raised to even a placeholder being used, and some contributors wished to be removed entirely. It appears to me based on subsequent developments that objections to the placeholders have died down, but I presume people still strongly objected to being listed on by name. People have strong feelings on this topic and I suggest, if the team working on this has not already done so, reaching out to User:Emijrp (maintainer of the now discontinued list of Wikimedian by edits on Meta) and User:MZMcBride (maintainer of the bot updating the current list on the English Wikipedia) for input into how to best handle this. Snowolf How can I help? 17:37, 21 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am amazed: after so many years of Wikistats this is new to me. No-one ever complained about being listed at e.g. top 50 recently active wikipedians, which is one of the more popular Wikistats tables. Erik Zachte (talk) 17:46, 25 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
