Zuul

  • debugging the Next Problem which has to do with `tls-server-name` not getting into the job's kubeconfig
    • Upstream fix https://review.opendev.org/c/zuul/zuul/+/990380
    • However, no idea if it will be merged and when a new Zuul release will happen, so looking into hacking the WMCS Zuul k8s hostname into the certificate SANs (longer term fix to avoid having to use `tls-server-name` in the first place)
    • However, no idea if my Magnum hack will work :(

Phorge

  • Upstream merge ready for testing in devtools, plan to deploy on 2026-06-09. It'll be awesome.
  • Wrote upstream code to allow configuring API tokens to have read-only access only

CI reliability

  • Quibble Gnu TLS error retry hack deployed


  • Development Metrics / Grimoirelab (ex Bitergia): Currently adding email addresses to >10_000 profiles without emails, after querying the Phab DB, dumping that into a file, and a local shell script reading that and writing via the Sortinghat GraphQL API. Afterwards can merge more identities which look like the same people. #betterdata
  • we have a new k8s cluster for Zuul that uses the cluster-api driver for Magnum
    • it works!
    • newer k8s and the haproxy hostname is now in the API server certificate SANs
      • no more need for `tls-server-name` and we sidestep the upstream Zuul issue where `tls-server-name` never makes it to the job workspace
  • on to the next Zuul headache which is related to Ansible failure while "Gathering facts"
    • Ansible is trying to use SSH to connect to the "namespace" host in the inventory which is not a real host (it is an abstract node which is backed by the k8s connnection)
