Search[edit]

  • Found huge performance issue we’ve been living with for a while. Filed upstream. Committed work around. Will cherry pick that to production tomorrow morning.
  • Reindexing wikis as the deployment train hits them this week to get updates
  • More performance work going into the next deployment train.
  • Rack D is coming.

Deploy Tooling[edit]

Performance[edit]

  • Better performance for CirrusSearch!
  • ULS stuff got re-merged. Riding the train on Thursday. Should be live next week.

Beta / CI[edit]

Security[edit]

  • Password length
  • Working on hadoop review. Reviews requested for Flow template engine, and popups (UX)

Math 2.0[edit]

We need to figure something out.

  • Brion volunteered to review more math changes
    • He started doing this already. (YAY!)
  • Math author did send a warning mail about Math breaking changes / cache issue. Unfortunately mail never made it to wikitech-l :-(
  • Dan will chat to him about user requirements and what he needs from us.
  • Needs folks on WMF side to help on Math / Potentially Math volunteers to test out on beta (check with Chris Mc Mahon)

Structured logging RFC[edit]

Bryan posted https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/112699/ and dropped a note on the RFC talk page. Quite a bit of “new” here to digest; composer managed external libraries may be the hardest pill to swallow.
