Translate[edit]
Wikimedia's software is translated to hundreds of languages using the Translate extension for MediaWiki. In addition, it is used to translate help pages, newsletters, policies, announcements, banners, etc. It is installed on Wikimedia special projects, translatewiki.net and many other sites. Translate is part of MLEB. Improvements made in the last month include:
- Special:PageTranslation: Require
â<translate>tags on the latest version for marking (task T289697, Gerrit change 714971) - SpecialTranslate: Fix/add validation for target language code (task T279252, Gerrit change 713601)
- Mark page display title to be translatable by default (task T287816, Gerrit change 709502)
- SpecialTranslate: Enable publish translation button in case of failure (task T272791, Gerrit change 713234)
- SpecialTranslate: Show warning when translating discouraged pages (task T237590, Gerrit change 714215)
- Fix translation of pages with custom content models (task T258756, Gerrit change 693984)
- BREAKING CHANGE: Greatly simplify legacy translation interface code (Gerrit change 708512)
- ExportTranslationsMaintenanceScript: Avoid creating empty files (task T287476, Gerrit change 708765)
- TranslationPage: Add dir/lang attribute for outdated translation header (task T289440, Gerrit change 714323)

Universal Language Selector[edit]
Universal Language Selector provides language selector, list of suggested languages, input methods and web fonts. It is part of MLEB. Notable changes made include,

MediaWiki Language Extension Bundle[edit]
The MediaWiki language extension bundle (MLEB) provides an easy way to bring ultimate language support to your MediaWiki. The bundle is a collection of a selected few MediaWiki extensions needed by any wiki which desires to be multilingual.
MLEB 2021.07 was released in July, 2021. Please see the release notes for a list of changes. Next release will be in October, 2021.
MediaWiki core internationalization[edit]
Changes to translations and equivalent localisation data (magic words, namespace names) are not included in this list. The volunteer translators are updating translations every day to keep up with changes.
