Multiple lines of preformatted text

User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:10.0.5) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.5 Iceweasel/10.0.5

Bug : Multiple line of preformatted text, which appear on the page as a unique bloc, appear as multiple blocs in the visual editor. 2001:5C0:1400:A:0:0:0:4B1 20:35, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit conflicts

User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120703 Firefox/15.0a2

It seems to resolve conflicts by completely ignoring what the previous person has changed. Not good. Foxj (talk) 18:30, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this is indeed a badly-needed feature - indeed, it's our top-severity bug. However, it's actually quite hard to design a graceful edit-conflict-resolution step without just dumping the user into wikitext (which, you know, we're trying to avoid!). :-) Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 19:21, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

?

User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1

Size has to be changed with numbers, sometimes you can't write anything. However, the Visual Editor has to be standard in Wikipedia. 80.187.97.62 13:54, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Smart quotes

User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1

It would be nice if dumb quotes could be automatically converted to smart quotes in the same way as Word does that for you. Same story for long dashes. This should be an option that can be selected and deselected in the user preferences. Cavila MW 1.17, MySQL 5.5.23, Php 5.3.10, SMW 1.7.1 09:34, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit old revisions

I notice that trying to edit an old revision, reverts to edit the latest revision. →AzaToth 00:13, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the Parsoid currently lacks the ability to pull an oldid, and instead just pulls the latest; this is tracked as bugzilla:37914. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 19:21, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
