Hi Trey Jones, I absolutely agree with your summary, "Perhaps a better approach to handling non-English queries is user-specified alternate languages." That is why i have made a collection about multilingual search "past, present and future" at de:Benutzer:Atlasowa/multilingual_search. Lots of pictures and stats and relevant links. Why People Use Search Engines Instead of Wikimedia Search, good stuff, TJones (WMF)! What do you think about this:
