Share your experience and feedback as a Wikimedian in this global survey
[edit]Hello! The Wikimedia Foundation is asking for your feedback in a survey. We want to know how well we are supporting your work on and off wiki, and how we can change or improve things in the future.[1] The opinions you share will directly affect the current and future work of the Wikimedia Foundation. You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. To say thank you for your time, we are giving away 20 Wikimedia T-shirts to randomly selected people who take the survey.[2] The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.

Re: phab:T402150
[edit]Hi @TCipriani (WMF) and @AKlapper (WMF)
I would like to express my frustration with the handling of phab:T402150. I believe if a sysop of a WMF wiki is requesting creation of user group for software development, then there needs to be less resistance and more support from WMF. The characterization of a phab ticket as "yet another place" that creates "fragmentation" is not entirely accurate, as I had noted that the development of software is currently scattered across multiple wikis. I would greatly appreciate if someone just read everything I wrote and tried to help rather than make requests to me one after another.
There was a recent consulation about Wikinews and one of the key messages was that changes are required. I am trying to get started with these changes. If I need to wait another week for a new project tag to be approved, that is hilarious and I could as well host my own phabricator on a vps rather than wait for your approval. That is not optimal. The whole point of the request was to save my time and use existing infrastructure, which is convenient for end users as they don't need to create another login with a new password.
I hope you can assist.
Many thanks.

- Hi @Gryllida
- I'm sorry for the frustrating Phabricator interaction. I'm sure @AKlapper_(WMF)'s intent was to gather info to make sure we're setting things up like you expect.

- This is helpful context—and thanks for jumping in to this. I'll engage back on Phab to ask a few clarifying questions there and we'll get you set up with what you need. TCipriani (WMF) (talk) 20:07, 18 August 2025 (UTC)
