Template:Pear[edit]

This template page is used by many of my extensions i.e. it is not specific to Extension:SecureHTML; thus, could you revert the changes you have made to it, please? Jean-Lou Dupont 10:16, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the information, reply on the talk page. Odessaukrain 15:13, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Extension:StubManager[edit]

Would it be possible to stop editing my pages directly and instead use the relevant discussion pages ? Jean-Lou Dupont 15:19, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yep, I am stopping editing your pages right now. I will simply ask questions on the talk page, and no longer attempt to improve your pages. I appreciate all of your hard work, I could never do what you have done. You have contributed so much to Mediawiki, and you are my only hope in making my wiki the way it should be. Thanks again. I just should note that pages on this (and not only this) wiki don't have ownership (except userspace) - VasilievVV 16:49, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Of course. The point I was trying to make (in probably a clumsy manner) was that when one does not entirely know what is correct information, one should engage in a discussion before fiddling around with the base pages. Jean-Lou Dupont 17:01, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Jean-Lou Dupont, again, I really respect all you have done for mediawiki. As promised, I have moved on to other extensions. It was a pleasure to work with you. Odessaukrain 17:51, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for you moral support. Glad to have been of service. Cheers. Jean-Lou Dupont 17:53, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Like wordpress comments extension[edit]

Hi look this forum extension, in future will have the same possibility of wordpress comments extension: http://examples.anotherwebcom.com/wikis/MediaWiki/Special:AWCforum/?action=st%2Fid557%2FForum_tag_feature_request If you like the idea, give a comment on the thread.

message customization[edit]

In your edits on Cite, you seem to encourage people to customize system messages by hacking the defaults in the code, rather than using the interface to modify the messages in the MediaWiki namespace, which would break if the follow this and ever upgrade the software. I think it would be better to avoid terms like lines and quoting things from the code that would give them the wrong idea, and just refer to them as messages. -Steve Sanbeg 18:50, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree, that using messages is better, my question, and something that needs to be addressed in the article, is how do you change this?
I actually have no idea how to do what you suggest.
The original instructions said to edit Cite.i18n.php. Odessaukrain 19:08, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Since that's not specific to the extension, it should probably be described in detail in a more relevant page, like manual:system message; then the extension could tell which messages to change, with a link to describe the process. i.e. instead of edit the line with 'cite_references_link_one' it should lead them to something like edit the page Mediawiki:cite_references_link_one -Steve Sanbeg 19:22, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am looking at Special:Allmessages now. Odessaukrain 19:31, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
