I asked Brion Vibber, one of the architects of MediaWiki, what he thought. He said:

Interesting... This sort of interactive physics demo is something I think we should have and would be greatly useful for some kinds of articles and books... I'd recommend looking into existing physics engines like box2d that have JavaScript ports rather than executing from scratch. I'd also strongly recommend a visual way to edit scenes rather than relying on markup as in the current proposal; this would make creating the physics demos much more accessible to teachers and students.

Hope this helps! Sharihareswara (WMF) (talk) 23:46, 26 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is great, thank you! I am going to look into box2d and a couple of other physics Javascript ports too. I definitely would love to make a more gui-oriented editor, but I think that either way it would have to rely on some base-markup so it can be edited after the fact. If that's the case, I should probably start with figuring out the base markup and then building the gui on top of it. Anyways, you gave me a lot to think about and I'm really glad this is something that may be useful! I'll work on a proper proposal. Thanks! Moriel Schottlender (talk) 01:07, 27 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
