Hi Jdpipe, and welcome to the mediawiki wiki.

Sorry for reverting your edit to Extension:Highlight earlier. The reason was that Extension:SyntaxHighlight GeSHi was actually just called "Highlite" "Highligt" until a couple of weeks ago (even in SVN), so links to Extension:Highlight may refer to that extension specifically. The "disambiguation" style page you created now isn't bad, but I'm not sure it makes sense in the Extension namespace - it should really only contain extensions, using their proper names. Perhaps a hub-page Manual:Syntax highlighting could be used to reference to various extensions that can be used (there are at least one more not present here yet, which uses vim as a back-end). But on the other hand, Category:Syntax highlighting already does that. So, what do you think? -- Duesentrieb 13:02, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

I presume that you mean it was called 'Highlight'? The issue that I take is that 'highlight' is actually the name of one of the more popular source-code highlighting programs, so if people are looking for a way to use 'highlight' with MediaWiki, they will find that page rather confusing if it redirects to GeSHi. So I think the name 'Extension:Highlight' is ambiguous, and that is why I thought that disambiguation was appropriate. I think your idea of a section in the manual might be a good idea; but perhaps it would be ok just to redirect to the category page that I created. BTW I just found the Beautifier extension, so that is one more to add, but it's on the meta wiki instead of here. I checked for pages linking to Extension:Highlight. You 'matrix' page was the only one.
I was talking about external links. But anyway... lets keep Extension:Highlight as a disambiguation, i'll tweak it a bit. -- Duesentrieb 13:31, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

I told you nicely, check my talk page. --Diego Grez return fire 02:13, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
