MobileDetect not working[edit]

Dear Felipe,

Sorry for contacting you from here. I have seen that you are one of the authors of MobileDetect which seems to fulfill all of my requirements for our mediawiki website, but I am experiencing difficulties trying to use it.

I would like to kindly ask you if by any chance you have an idea of what might I be doing wrong. I posted my problem in the discussion of the MobileDetect article Extension_talk:MobileDetect (the last one)

Thanks a lot in advance

Regards

Re: WikipediaExtracts[edit]

Ah ok, I had no idea the extension was being proposed for Wikimedia wikis. Maybe write it somewhere on the page or the extension page, or at least note it in the edit summary. Nemo 17:05, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

ProveIt and Wikimedia hackathon[edit]

Just noticed that you are here too. In fiwiki gadgets there is something for you under the "Testattavat" and with title "Muokattu ProveIt -viitteenlisäystyökalu" (rought translate is that modified provelt reference tool). Modification is that it uses citoid for filling the refs and order of the tabs are different. No english translation though but i think that you will be able to test it beside that. Would be also great to see you too (my photo can be found in meta's user page) --Zache (talk) 11:23, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

@Zache: Wow!!! Amazing work man, thanks for letting me know about it. Have you seen this task? I will be working there in integrating your work with the master branch. :-) I'm not at the Hackathon unfortunately, decided not to attend due to ecological concerns with flying. Kind regards! --Felipe (talk) 21:27, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

HoverGallery[edit]

Hello, I'm using a semantic 1.28.2 mediawiki, and HoverGallery is something I really would like to use. Yet, I have a difficulty : I intend to create pages with a template, in which I would like to integrate some semantized data, and a gallery. Yet, when I try using the "classic" :

<hovergallery maxhoverwidth=600 maxhoverheight=600>
{{#ifeq: {{{Image1|}}} | | | {{{Image1}}} }}
</hovergallery>

syntax, it does not work, just as if the "gallery syntax" is effective before the #ifeq test is undergone. Maybe you do know why, or even, maybe, know to way to override this problem ?

Thank's a lot (sorry, my english is not that good ; I hope my question s understandable, yet) ! -- T Daunois (talk) 12:45, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

@T Daunois: The <hovergallery> tag calls the <gallery> tag internally, and it seems like this is a limitation of the <gallery> tag. You'll need to report this as a core bug/enhancement. Good luck! --Felipe (talk) 12:18, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
@Sophivorus: Thank's ! I'll do that. Yet, just before I'll try if I can't do it the other way round : undergoing the test, and, on the basis of what it does, use the gallery :-) --T Daunois (talk) 07:14, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

who fucked up Extension:MsUpload?[edit]

Damn I loved loved loved Extension:MsUpload. Thank you so much for helping create it. It is the best extension ever made. Now it is a terrible worthless aberration that has so many bugs in it.

Whoever redesigned this extension should be reprimanded.

  1. The extension no longer works at all for 1.27.
  2. It no longer works without WikiEditor
  3. If you have mediawiki 1.25 or before, the extension no longer works.

I upgraded from mediawiki 1.19 just to use this extension, unbeknownst to me, it is now a steaming pile of dog shit. :-( Moscowamerican (talk) 14:42, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
