Similar but not the same. My extension is intended to be used as a template (e.g. {{Special:Status/Chris G}} will show my status on a page) this way it can be used in those templates people use. Also mine uses the UserLogin and UserLogout hooks to tell if a user is online or offline rather than the pageload hooks --Chris 08:52, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
