I think the point of the message is a little bit muddled; that is, what we are asking for.

I suggest framing the message as,

"Currently, when you search this site, the search results only return certain namespaces on each wiki. It has recently been found that search results can be manipulated to add other namespaces. Currently this wiki's search returns <namespaces>. The namespaces <foo> and <bar> are also available if the community thinks that one or both (or several) are appropriate. Would this community like to vote/!vote/discuss adding <namespaces> to search? More than happy to help out with whatever the community decides."

or " [...] recently been noticed that the "main content namespaces" list, doesn't match the "default search namespaces" list on this wiki. [...]"

Yeah, something like that.
