It might be a good idea to clarify if you want to do this as a javascript "gadget", or as a MediaWiki extension. You may also want to include a brief description of what an automatic taxonbox is (It is not safe to assume that MediaWiki developers are familar with Wikipedia templates. Some are, most are not). Last of all you may want to include in your proposal what your plans are for localization of this (or more to the point, if you have any plans, it may be a valid thing to say that you want your project to only target enwikipedia), such plans might include how to deal with other language wikis, and non-wikipedia english wikis that use different template systems than enwikipedia does. Baconprime, it's now very close to the deadline, and you should complete your proposal and contact individual mentors to ask whether they might mentor your proposal -- maybe Jure or Gabriel would be interested?
