If you end up filing a bug for something, then in that box give a link to the bug report, and make the background red and the text color black.

MediaWiki 1.18 Incredibly Rough Test Plan: A basic collection of some test cases to try on 1.18
Task Description/Notes Firefox? IE? Chrome? Safari? Mobile?
Example Example steps to try works no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet link to sample bug
Create an account Make a login (username/password). Does it work? Do you end up with a working account? works works works works Bugzilla:31045
Upload - extension added? Try to upload a file that doesn't have an extension (for example, a text file called "asdf" instead of "asdf.txt" and see whether MediaWiki, when saving the file, adds the correct filename extension, or just tells you not to upload it; either behavior is correct. no tests yet works no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet
Mix directionalities Add text to a page that's in a different directionality to the rest of the page (for example, put some Hebrew text on an English page). Also try making links & creating new pages whose names/titles are in the other directionality. Do all the words show up in the correct direction? works works works no tests yet no tests yet
Move a page Make sure you have confirmed your email address in your user preferences. Go to a test page on your wiki (say Sandbox). Just to the left of the search box, there's a little downward-facing arrow. Click that and you'll see a Move option. Choose it and decide where to move it. Does it work? (Don't forget to move it back, does overwriting the redirect left behind work as well?) no tests yet works no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet
Edit a page Go to a random page, click Edit, and delete or move around some text, then click Save. Does the new page display? If you look in the history for the diff of the newest revision, is it accurate? works works works works no tests yet
Test language preferences Go to your user preferences and choose a different language, one that you know but that is not English. Click around and do all the tasks you can think of and look for places where something's wrong - where you see "<message-key>" or "<message-key>" instead of any text (indicating there's not even an English version), or mismatched HTML tags, or anything off. If you see English text, then it needs to be translated. For text that needs translations, see translatewiki.net. no valid tests yet no valid tests yet no valid tests yet works--Spanish no tests yet
Hide revisions Get sysop powers on test2.wikipedia.org (from someone in the #mediawiki IRC channel). Go to a page's history. Hide a revision. Does it work? no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet
Delete a page Get sysop powers on test2.wikipedia.org (from someone in the #mediawiki IRC channel). Go to a page. Click the down-facing arrow to the left of the search box. Click Delete. Can you delete the page? Does it stay deleted? no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet
Comment Go to someone's User:Talk page (example) and click the Add Topic button at the top. Can you create a new topic? Does it post? works no tests yet no tests yet works no tests yet
No email on minor edits Set your user preferences so you get email regarding edits on your watchlist, but don't get email regarding minor edits. Then log out and edit your own Talk (discussion) page. Do you get email about it? You shouldn't! works no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet no tests yet
