About me

I originally hail from Rajasthan, India. Prior to joining the Wikimedia Foundation, I received an MS in Media Arts and Sciences from the MIT Media Lab, where I was exploring how online platforms for learning could be made more peer-led, engaging, participatory and accessible to diverse populations. At the Media Lab, I contributed to the design, development, and research of Unhangout, a platform for running large-scale unconference style events online.

Before MIT, I was working as a software developer with a startup organization in India. As an undergrad, I was involved with the open source community GNOME and its educational project GCompris.

My work

I lead the efforts of the Technical Collaboration team to engage volunteer developers in Wikimedia software projects and to grow our technical community. Some of these current efforts are coordinating Wikimedia's participation in mentoring programs such as Google Summer of Code & Outreachy, researching potential initiatives for onboarding new developers & providing them a growth path, and promoting developer projects through various venues.
