A quick brain dump of kinds of pages useful mainly for people admining a wiki and wanting to make changes. For example, config setting changes, creating an extension, changing the layout

Taking on board a brief scan of the discussion in Project:Current issues,

  • Manual:
    • A page for each $wg
  • A page for each element of the user interface and how to adapt it Ie:
  • A page for each PHP Object, Ie, User, Title, etc
  • A page for each wgOut etc you can use in an extension or special page
  • A page for each mediawiki hook --> Manual:MediaWiki hooks, Category:MediaWiki hooks
  • A page on each CSS style object
  • Pages describing how to write an extension or special page
  • Pages describing how to adapt the style of MW

  • A page on each type of extension

Things to change maybe[edit]

  • Make it so Sandbox isn't visible in recent changes, maybe only to the user making the change
  • Hide user creation log?
  • Make it so search searches Manual and Project by default and so searching Manual: actually works!
