| Because of my volunteer work as an editor at Wikipedia and coordinator of Wikimedia Venezuela, since 2019 I have been a victim of online harassment, which has escalated in 2022 to an investigation that has been described by different human rights organizations as a judicial persecution that attempts to curtail my freedom and that of other users. These attacks show that there are organized groups (not only in Venezuela) that want to control the truth and reality of their citizens, but it is impossible for them to bend platforms like Wikipedia, which have pillars such as the neutral point of view and the use of reliable sources that help prevent their unique truth. |

Hi, I’m a Wikimedia volunteer and a sysop on the Spanish Wikipedia. I’m also one of the founders and a former president of Wikimedia Venezuela. From 2021 to 2024, I worked as a contractor for the Wikimedia Foundation, collaborating with the (now defunct) Movement Strategy and Governance and MovComms teams. I was a Wikimedian in Residence at Equis Research to build a Latino community on the wikis, and I will continue to spearhead this project under WikiLatinos.
I am also one of the mentors and coordinators of the Wikimedia Language Diversity Hub.
