I'm currently in my second (final) year of the Master of Information program at the University of Toronto's iSchool. As Canada's first iSchool, our programs include a wide range of courses around the intersection of people, information, communication and technology. My focus in the Masters program has been on Information Systems and Design, including modelling workflows and processes, developing database schemas and SQL queries, as well as information architecture and user experience design. I've also had the opportunity to work as a research assistant on a study of the multidisciplinary GRAND Research Network, and recently put together an infographic to communicate our work on research collaboration to a broader audience. I will be continuing my studies this Fall in the PhD program with a research focus on information visualizations, in particular applying visualizations to aid in decision-making for trusted digital repositories in digital preservation.
