Feedback centralisation heads-up[edit]

Hello. Please see my announcement at ויקיפדיה:עורך_חזותי/משוב#Feedback_centralisation_heads-up. If you have comments, please use that thread. Thank you! Elitre (WMF) (talk) 15:53, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

Feedback centralisation heads-up[edit]

Hello. Please help translate to your language. Thank you!

Over two years ago I contacted several wikis as part of the plan to progressively centralise user feedback about the visual editor at mediawiki.org. Among the other advantages it offers, the centralised board is the only one that Community Liaisons at the Wikimedia Foundation commit to check at least once a week.

If you are reading this message, it means that this local feedback page wasn't suppressed then, but it's still a low traffic page, with low or no maintenance, mainly or only featuring off-topic content, or all of these alternatives.

We are working at the second phase of feedback centralisation. This will also affect this page for the reasons explained above: you don't need to do anything. We will redirect both the existing feedback page and the feedback tool, accessible from within the editor, to the centralised page on mediawiki.org. Please note, we will still need your help at mediawiki.org! In case feedback is posted there in your language, we may need someone who is proficient in it to take a look. So please do let us know who we could ping to get some support. Thanks!

(Still want to keep the local feedback page? Please let me know as soon as possible that this is your intention. The page will need a visible notice on top, in your language. It must either flag the name of at least one volunteer who agrees to monitor and take action on the page from now on, or it needs to say that the page is not actively monitored by WMF staff. I will also contact volunteers who had previously given their availability to act as local liaisons, if any, to see if they'll renew their intentions. In any case, even after the transition is complete, you can get our attention at any time by simply pinging us.)

Unless I hear from you before, we will proceed with the plan above in 2 weeks, on 2017-10-24. I appreciate your attention and all your support! Elitre (WMF) (talk) 15:53, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

Volunteer heads-up[edit]

Hi, in the past, you had expressed interest to maintain [[]]. Thank you!

Having all the feedback on a single, centralized place like mw:VisualEditor/Feedback mainly means getting faster, more frequent replies and more attention from a higher number of people, including the people who are building the software. It also means chances are high, that editors will find that someone else has already written there about the issues or requests they wanted to post. Maintaining a local page instead can be cumbersome: it needs to be checked frequently in case someone reports urgent issues. Old threads need to be archived from time to time. Off-topic comments should be removed to keep readability. Feedback left there is sometimes not easily understandable or actionable at all.

After 2 years, we are revisiting decisions about local feedback pages. Please see [[]]. Looking forward to hearing from you there. Best,

Hi, you have recently agreed to maintain [[]]. Thank you! I'm working on Phase 2 of feedback centralisation: I think the German page is active enough that it could stay, but I really need a notice on it with your name (or another person's) on top as active maintainer, or saying it is not maintained by WMF staff. So please let me know if you will add such a notice. Danke,

Hi, I'm contacting you as a tech ambassador who can help on this wiki with the ongoing process of centralizing feedback about the visual editor on mediawiki.org.

After 2 years, we are revisiting decisions about local feedback pages. Please see Wikipédia:VisualEditor/Visszajelzés#Feedback_centralisation_heads-up. I am hoping you can find the most appropriate way to flag this to the community and help them take a decision :) Looking forward to hearing from you there. Best,

Feedback centralisation heads-up[edit]

Over two years ago I contacted several wikis as part of the plan to progressively centralise user feedback about the visual editor at mediawiki.org. (Among the other advantages it offers, the centralised board is the only one that Community Liaisons at the Wikimedia Foundation commit to check at least once a week.)

We are working at the second phase of feedback centralisation. We think this page gets enough traffic that it's worth keeping it here, but we still want to make a change. The page will need a visible notice on top. It must either flag the name of at least one volunteer who agrees to monitor and take action on the page from now on, or it needs to say that the page is not actively monitored by WMF staff. Unless I hear from you before, I'll come back in 2 weeks, on 2017-10-24, to see whether someone has volunteered, otherwise I'll simply put the other notice up. I appreciate your attention and all your support!

Centralisation des retours utilisateur[edit]

Bonjour !
