About me
I’m Eric, a software engineer in Portland, Oregon. I believe in eloquent code, human-centered design, and technology that empowers instead of controls.
Prior to joining the Foundation, I spent several years working in the museum world. I also have a background in graphic design.
My other interests include analog and digital photography, bicycling, and social justice.
My work
I joined the Foundation in 2019 as part of the Reading/Multimedia Team. Our current project involves bringing structured data to Wikimedia Commons to better serve institutional contributors like GLAM organizations, and to make the vast amount of material stored there more discoverable.
Disclaimer: I work for or provide services to the Wikimedia Foundation, and this is the account I try to use for edits or statements I make in that role. However, the Foundation does not vet all my activity, so edits, statements, or other contributions made by this account may not reflect the views of the Foundation.
