I have been working with the familysearch.org/wiki since November 2016. I have a technical background and I am comfortable with C, C++, PHP, HTML and SQL (among other less known languages, like ADA). Since I am new to mediawiki, I am still learning the syntax for creating pages, however, I am thrilled that the backend is in PHP. Even though JS is similar to several languages I know, I have not had formal JS training and find myself looking up syntax more often than I care to admit.
