Hi, I've been reading through your updates on "add an image" task, it sounds really positive. I appreciate that the project is very much targeted on what we need to do to engage newcomers.

I have struggled with a lot of wiki-stuff on Wikisource; I am primarily a proofreader. One of the things that I really struggle with is uploading files to Wikidata, and editing and categorizing images to go into the texts I am working on. I note that there is concerns about the quality of images being suggested for this project. Is there any guidelines re image quality, that could apply to WS/upload to WD? Automatic category suggestions? Wikilink suggestions?

I would appreciate mentorship to work on making WS more newcomer friendly-with me in the newcomer category.WS is dominated by wikiers who don't appreciate how hard it is to engage in WS for people without wiki-skills. It is possible that Image processing on WS could be as engaging as Add an image is to WP?

Just putting this out there, Thanks ~~~~

Hello @Zoeannl! Thank you for being active on Wikisource and for getting in touch about the newcomer experience there. Though the Growth team has focused on Wikipedia for the last few years, we're starting to think about how our work can be brought to Wikisource. I'm pinging @Trizek (WMF), who is the member of our team conducting that conversation.

Hello

We indeed plan to work on enabling Growth features to Wikisources. The discussion has started there. Mentoring will be part of it.

Regarding the difficulties you encounter right now at Wikisource, I encourage you to contact the Help Scriptorium. You will find there people far more skilled than we are. :)
