I translated the english article about September 11 attacks to greek, which left 83 paragraphs were automatic translation did a job could enough so as to keep more than 85%. I tried to pass them as "user confirmed" only to see that when I click to the next paragraph, the previous becomed again problematic. This means that I have translated a 200.000+ bytes article that I can't publish (or at least overwrite the existing one)! The problem is the same in Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and also in another one translation I have, this time of a smaller article (Blue runner en>el).

Currently, publishing is prevented when the initial machine translation is not edited enough based in certain limits. If your translation consist mostly (99% or more) of just machine translation or has more than 50 paragraphs with more than 85% of unmodified contents, publishing is blocked.

These limits are intended to encourage the necessary corrections to prevent the creation of low quality content that are problematic for reviewers. These limits are not perfect and may result in some false positives (especially for long articles). We are open to adjust both their logic (and have some ideas) and the specific limits if needed to support the needs of specific languages. Based on machine translation quality for your language, which is the percentage fo content you expect that will be always necessary to edit.

For now, reviewing the contents to edit them further seems the only way forward. But, feel free ot provide more details and we'll consider for future improvements.

Unfortunately the acceptable percentage of necessary edit really depends on the translated article. Sometimes, especially in medicine related articles 95 to 97% of the translation is good enough, however it can fall below 80% in some other cases, eg. when it has many location names that are either left in latin alphabet or they are completely wrong in greek or specialised terms. Also, the automatic translation of the September 11 attacks was one of the best I had encountered using the translation tool. In a case that many paragraphs (>50) are 95%, or more, good to go it is quite difficult to make some of the drop below 85% unmodified, let alone if these are 30+ paragraphs that have to be modified.

However, Pginer-WMF, shouldn't I be able to mark some of the "problematic" paragraphs as acceptable, so as to drop below the 50 paragraph limit?
