How do I remove a particular page from my CirrusSearch?

I saw the help, but it is difficult for beginners, so can anyone tell me in an easy-to-understand manner?

Could you clarify what you are willing to do?

  • Removing a page from the CirrusSearch index should happen when you remove/rename the page using the wiki functionalities.
  • If for some reasons you can't use the wiki functionalities but have write access to the elasticsearch cluster you can still use the elasticsearch REST API for this. Bear in mind that the page might re-appear in the CirrusSearch index if this page is updated using the wiki.
  • If you would like CirrusSearch to ignore a page, then as far as I know this is not possible. The best you can do is exclude some part of the page content, please see Help:CirrusSearch#Exclude_content_from_the_search_index for this.

Please let me know if this is the last point you found in the documentation but found difficult to understand for beginners.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!

I want to exclude a few pages or so from the CirrusSearch.

Since it is a WIKI, I want to use LocalSettings.php to exclude pages but I don't know how to do it, so I'm asking.

Sadly this does not seem possible without modifying the source code nor hacking some hooks. If you think this is a valid feature to implement please feel free to open a task on in Phabricator under the project CirrusSearch.

Thank you so much.

Pretty incredible that you can hide a part of the content but not a whole page!
