Lack of clarity for reporting bugs

Currently the text in section Where do I report bugs? indicates that people should follow a link to Wikimedia Apps/Team/Bug reporting which in turn points to Phabricator. In contrast the image File:File a bug.png in the section seems to suggests that people should navigate through the Wikipedia app's settings to report a bug, ultimately sending an email to a Wikimedia email address.

The presentation of these two pathways without any explanation of how they relate to each other is confusing. I would greatly appreciate if the text was changed to clarify the way the two pathways relate to each and which, if either of them, is preferred. Many thanks.

PS: Are any you aware of any follow-up regarding the two comments made about reading in Simplified Chinese versus Traditional? Is it an article instead of a UI issue?

@The Editor's Apprentice: I don't handle incoming bugs myself and thus have no preferences, but I'll make sure people see this and reply.

The email goes to OTRS (the customer service ticket system used by communities). We then have a weekly process where we consolidate concerns, answer questions and file tickets based on those reports. This is our perferred method, though we of course also accept and pay attention to bugs filed directly into phab. However, I can see that the duplicate/inconsistent instructions here could be confusing, we'll simplify them to ask that bugs come via the "Report a bug" feature.

To your note about Chinese variants, I have answered them below, but the underyling issue is with how the APIs the apps use interact with and (previously lacked any support for) Chinese and other languages relying on the variant function. This has recently been largely rectified, and Android has already improved their support and iOS will be doing the same in an soon upcoming version.

@JMinor (WMF) Thanks for the quick response and action. It is interesting to learn about the inner working of bug reporting and I'm glad that such a system exists. Additionally, it is convenient that the problem with variants of Chinese has recently been resolved for the most part.
