Buenos días. Al traducir del inglés al español el artículo:

en:Garratt >> es:Locomotora Garratt

he detectado que de forma sistemática, las referencias del tipo:

<ref name="Durrant">{{harvnb|Durrant|1981}}</ref>

son OMITIDAS POR EL TRADUCTOR AUTOMÁTICO.

He estado trabajando en la traducción del artículo tanto en una tablet sobre anrdoid, como en un portátil sobre Windows 7.

I have the same problem (English to Japanese). It happens on "cite magazine" templates too, does it not? Also, it seems that some references that are used multiple times are not displayed properly (they aren't "grouped"?).

ja:利用者:YTRK/ボーダーズ・レールウェイ (translated from en:Borders Railway): This is one of the articles the problem have been occuring in, and I've been manually adding the missing citations. Hoping it helps to locate the problem.

Citation templates differ between languages: jawiki is very strict about access-date parameter for cite web templates, so that Abuse Filter sometimes picks up that part and prevent publishing.

Here is my way of understanding, so please try verify it elsewhere (I haven’t come up with a relevant page, appreciate you would point me to(: ).

• Single citation used multiple times _is_ output as the full form of citation template, i.e., cite xxx|title=yyy|...|date=zzz. I am not sure if it is a known issue that tech people intentionally arrange, as if you translate and use ref=abc/ tag, and if the first ref-/ref citation template was deleted/omitted by chance, all refs pointing to that will disappear.

• But if CX2 tediously adds each and every cittion template in long form, I guess we have better chance to avoid dropping refs;

• too bad we translators or other editors need to manually make duplicate refs into _ref name=abc_ or arrange harv or harvnb or sfn tagging; if we leave it as is, I thought our translation will attract some bot or unwanted tags/templates for sourcing template errors;

• In any case, in which case bots will tag our translation with “no ref article”, a prone target for Article_for_Deletion (AfD).

I don't know if that's the problem because (although I hadn't realized while translating that article) I am able to copy the omitted references (which are displayed in grey) from the English version. (sorry @Wiki LIC, should have mentioned that earlier) If it's the abuse filter, wouldn't it stop me doing that too?

@YTRK, do you think Wiki LIC is talking about android and Tablet vs Windows? I am on iOS, so don’t have any idea.

For your Second reply, I wish to know more details about It. You are kind to point out whether it’s Abuse Fillter or not that prevented/turned grey a ref tag in your translation. Maybe we would better create another thread for your case, or at least we can try to solve it, right?

Then, which ref tag in :w:en:Borders Railway did you manually copy from en to ja? I thought you were “... able to copy the omitted references (which are displayed in grey)...”, and kindly teach me:

1) When you later copied from the left pain (English) on CX2 to right pain there in (Japanese)? (silly question, but we’d better clarify (; )

2) Does the cite magazine (cite journal) ref above 1) have any _ref=harvnb_ parameter in it? Wiki LIC’s translation original has, as I comment below. And very good chance Abuse Filter for es translation was triggered with that paramenter.

3) Does the ref in grey (English) lack any essential parameters when you copy it into your translation on CX2? Maybe _title_, or _work_?

Do you feel any other cause than harvnb param disturbed your translation, or prevented ref tag (on left pain in grey) to autofill to your translation (on right pain)?

About the operating system, I have no idea. I'm using Windows 10 by the way.

As for the translation of en:Borders Railways, I had given up on fixing the references and was in the process of adding references after publishing it as a draft when I first commented. The fixes I had to make can be seen here. It seems that on taking a closer look, the "harvnb"s were fine... (apart from the grouping problems, although it could have been that I copied the references manually from the left pane but left out the references that had appeared before. I just don't remember, sorry.) There was also no harvnb parameter in the cite magazine references.

I finished up another translation earlier, 利用者:YTRK/バス規制緩和 (英国). I've marked the references that appeared in grey and had to be copied from the left pane as "(RCLP)" and the references that was copied automatically as "(F)" in the 影響 section. However, it seems that none of those references (both the ones that appeared in grey and the ones that appeared in blue) used templates, so I'll check for the last point on other translations.

@Wiki LIC, hi. For harvnb reference tagging, please refer to :w:en:Help:Shortened_footnotes. As you don’t see language link on PC left border, I think eswiki does not use havnb tag for using a single citation in an article for multiple times. Is it true?

Second point, I wish somebody can teach us what the following template be rewritten for es (and maybe ja) wikipedia, as we don’t apply that template: Very sorry Wiki LIC is unlucky hitting an enwiki page] that is not quite CX2 friendly citation template-wise. • temporary solution: please check eswki what short-reference format you are using, while in jawp, we use sfn tagging, so what I will do will befirst modify Bibliograhy items, then secondly modify article body text for tags/templates:

• for Oberg,

• please note in this method, you need to spell out the ...Sfn|Oberg|1975... tag anytime you need to givecitation to it. Be careful with the page number (p=___). When you save your page, then system will scan and give small [a][b][c] to each Oberg citation in the article.
