I have translated four pages, yet I could not directly publish them. When I try to publish them as a new page the system says "Your translation cannot be published because publishing is only allowed to more experienced editors on this wiki." They have now been waiting as a "community draft" for 8 days. When will they get approved? How does this process work and move forward?

Which language is it that you're trying to translate into? I think that kind of things are related to each project, rather than the content translation tool. Perhaps you should ask at the village pump (if its the English wikipedia).

Yes the translations are from Latvian to English.

See Wikipedia:Drafts#How drafts work.

It says you can make the draft into an article if you're an Autoconfirmed user (minimum 4 days and 10 edits) or you could request the move on Wikipedia:Requested moves.

However, since there is a reason that the content translation tool is limited to Extended Confirmed users (minimum 30 days and 500 edits), I suggest you submit the draft through the Articles for creation process.

Quote: "When you are finished, you can submit your article for review by clicking the button "Submit for review". If you don't see this button, you can add the code {{subst:submit}} to the top of your draft. If you see a yellow box saying "Review waiting, please be patient", you have successfully submitted your draft for review."

Happy editing!
