Topic on Project:Village Pump

I've asked Masumrezarock100 (talk⧼dot-separator⧽contribs⧼dot-separator⧽logs) that we could delete some pages from Special:WantedPages, but with some requirements:

• Page title:
  • The pages should be in the main and Template: namespaces.
  • Their {{BASEPAGENAME}} should begin with a dollar sign ($).
• Coding:
  • For templates:

    <includeonly>[[Template:{{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}]]</includeonly><noinclude>{{Translation variable notice}}</noinclude>

  • For other pages:

    {{Translation variable notice}}

• The template "Translation variable notice" is located at User:Keyacom/sandbox/Translation variable notice.

Masumrezarock100 said we have too many pages like that if we would need to do this by hand, and he said a bot can handle this.

I'm not sure what do you want to do... create those red link pages with a placeholder template? I don't think that's clean.

Comment: please don't bring up off-wiki information about an user, it is irrelevant to this discussion and probably the user in question is not comfortable with this. Repeated misuse of such information will lead to a block. Anybody is free to provide their opinions in this public discussion.

Comments like that are not productive here unless you explain what they mean.

This means "yes", and I would also invite other translation administrators to this discussion.

Most of the pages that appear are translation unit subpages.

I don't know if it would be reasonable for those translation units subpages to not track links at all. That would solve the entire problem from the software side.

I'm talking about them too. And those pages get linked from translation unit subpages, not normal pages. Hence my suggestion.

They appear on the Special:WantedPages regardless.

That's expected, since nobody changed the software to prevent that. I only made a suggestion.
